Server moves

Posted by tabulas at 06:25 AM on December 4, 2006 in General News.

Hey everybody! Hope you're having a great end of the year.

I'm posting to let you know that I will be doing a series of server upgrades over the next two weeks. The downtime for these upgrades will be minimal, so if something is broken, don't fret! It's just me doing some work

More immediately, your RSS feeds are being moved. The new locations will look like http://xml.tabulas.com/username/rss.xml. I've already updated the RSS links in the headers of your templates. The old URLs (http://aces.tabulas.com/tabulas/rss.xml) will continue to work for at least another week - after that, I will make those URLs automatically redirect to the new locations, so your existing RSS readers shouldn't have to do anything! However, it never hurts to point them to the real location, so if you've got visitors who read your site through RSS, please tell them to update to your new location!

Thanks, and I appreciate your support for Tabulas!

- Roy

Database moved!

Posted by tabulas at 05:07 PM on December 7, 2006 in General News.

I've just completed the move of our Tabulas database from our old server to our new server. This resulted in 30 minutes of downtime, but everything is working smoothly now. Thanks for your patience once again!

Radio blog

Posted by tabulas at 02:11 PM on December 13, 2006 in General News.

Sorry, but radio.blogs have been down for the past two weeks. I had no idea they were down - it was caused by the server moves I've been making. Radio blogs should be back up, but recently uploaded radio tracks may not work - delete and re-upload those.

Thanks for your continued support.

Does Tabulas seem a little faster?

Posted by tabulas at 04:08 PM on December 15, 2006 in General News.

Does Tabulas seem a little faster to you? If so, that's because Tabulas has been moved to a faster server! I expect that there might be problems with your accounts over the weekend - if something that was working last week isn't working this week, PLEASE comment in this entry to let me know so I can fix it.

Later tonight, I will transition api.tabulas.com, my.tabulas.com, and radio.tabulas.com to their new servers!

I apologize for any difficulties you'll run into with your accounts, but this is for the best in the long run!

BAD!

Sorry Tabulas was broken for the last 12 hours - I was a complete moron and I updated files on the server that shouldn't have been updated ... oops. Sorry!

RSS feeds and the Tabulas API should now be fixed - try editing one of your existing entries to refresh your RSS feed.

More server updates

Posted by tabulas at 03:41 AM on December 20, 2006 in General News.

Tonight, I moved over all your personal data servers as well as the control panel to the new servers. Please, if something is broken with any files being served from your personal data servers (aces.tabulas.com, lca.tabulas.com, and jbiel.tabulas.com), please comment below with your problem.

If you run into any problems with your control panel, please also let me know of these problems!

Thanks for your continued support of Tabulas, I really appreciate it!

Happy holidays!

Posted by tabulas at 06:04 PM on December 23, 2006 in General News.

Happy holidays to everybody! As a little holiday gift, I've boosted the image limits on all free accounts to 250 images (instead of the old 150). Have fun sharing your pictures!

New feature

Posted by tabulas at 04:27 AM on December 24, 2006 in General News.

Under the preferences page, you'll see a new option called: "Site privacy."

This feature will essentially do a friends-only or private privacy override on all content in your Tabulas (except images). Use this feature if you quickly want to restrict access to your Tabulas from strangers without having to reset each entry individually.
